Dr Yvonne Clune, BSc, PhD
Dr Yvonne Clune is a Research Support Officer at the Centre for Gerontology and Rehabilitation (CGR). Yvonne completed a BSC (Microbiology) in 2000 and went on to complete a PhD which investigated the effects of synbiotics on cancer risk biomarkers as part of the FP5, quality of life and management of living resources funded project SYNCAN. Yvonne then took up a position with the Haemochromatosis Genetic Testing Laboratory at the Mater Misericordiae University Hospital, Dublin, where she looked after the day to day running of the busy diagnostic testing service before returning to UCC in September 2012. As Research Support Officer her main responsibility is coordinating the research activities of the CGR and she is actively involved in grant reporting and proposals, budgeting, staff recruitment and liaison with other research groups to explore collaborative research opportunities.
