Dr Tony Foley
Tony graduated with a medical degree from University College Cork (UCC) in 1995. A practicing General Practitioner (GP), he is a GP Trainer and an Examiner with the Irish College of General Practitioners and has recently been appointed as Lecturer in the Department of General Practice in UCC.
Tony’s clinical and research interests include inter-professional education in multidisciplinary teams and dementia in the primary care setting.
Tony is the lead for K-CoRD (Kinsale Community Response to Dementia). This is a three year project funded by The Atlantic Philanthropies and the Health Service Executive, which is looking at the innovative management of dementia in the community. The findings from K-CoRD and three other pilot sites nationally, will feed into Ireland’s forthcoming National Dementia Strategy.
K-CoRD is affiliated with COLLAGE and is a partner in the D4 Specific Action Group on Age Friendly Environments.
