Joan Martin

Currently County Manager in Louth County Council, Ireland, Joan has worked in the Irish Public Health Service for more than 35 years. She holds a degree in Public ADministration as well as a Masters in Business Administration (MBA) and has very wide-ranging experience across a variety of fields including Transportation, Planning, Environment and Water Services. Joan is responsible for the Louth Age Friendly portfolio and is a member of the Louth Age Friendly Alliance. County Louth is a member of the World Health Organisation Age Friendly Cities and the Age Friendly model developed in Louth is being rolled out to other counties in Ireland. Joan is a partner and group co-ordinator in the EIP AHA’s D4 Specific Action Group on Age Friendly Environments. She represented D4 at the European Health Gastein Forum in 2012 and will speak on behalf of D4 at the e-Health week in Dublin in May 2013.
