Dr Alice Coffey, PhD, M.Ed., B.A. Health Management, RNT, RGN, RM.
Alice is College Lecturer and Director of Post Graduate Programmes at Catherine McAuley School of Nursing and Midwifery, University College Cork (UCC). She is lecturer and research supervisor on undergraduate and post graduate programmes. Her clinical experience working with older adults includes Clinical Nurse Manager of a rehabilitation unit for older people. Research interests are in transitions in health and illness for older adults. She was awarded a Clinical Research Fellowship from the Health Research Board to complete her PhD study on ‘Readiness for discharge of older people from hospital to home and use of community support’.
Currently, her research activities involve working with the Department of Gerontology and Rehabilitation at UCC on research on Advanced Directives. Alice has numerous publications in international nursing journals. She is a member of UCC Ageing Research Cluster, the All Ireland Gerontological Nurses Association and Irish Gerontological Society.
